Questions & answers

Speak with our team →

How are the 48 carbide grades classified?

Grades are grouped by the maximum WC grain size: Ultrafine up to 0.8 µm, Fine up to 1.6 µm, Medium up to 3.5 µm, Coarse up to 10 µm, and Extra coarse above 10 µm.

What do HRA and T.R.S. mean in the grade chart?

HRA is Rockwell A hardness. T.R.S. is transverse rupture strength, listed in kgf/mm². The chart shows each grade’s hardness range and strength specification; contact DH PRECISION for advice on your application.

How do I choose a tungsten carbide grade?

Review the grade specifications and the Grade by use application list, then contact DH PRECISION with your application and tool requirements for grade selection advice.
